Roasting on a Diedrich Roaster
Why we use Diedrich for our Coffee Roasting
First off, the Diedrich is well known for being used by many award winning coffee roasters.
A key component is precision. The Diedrich Roaster is one of the most precise in its design. Even though it has a very smooth outside, on the inside there are “fins”. As soon as the air is turned on there is a perfect vortex for a consistent heat on the beans.
Another key part of the Diedrich roaster are the two infrared shields that go around the drum. There is not an open flame which results in a very consistent roast.
We use an automated Diedrich. This ensures that once we have everything perfected we can perfectly replicate that consistency again.
This is what we Love to Thrive on.
It is the artist and the scientist working together. The artist finds out what the bean can be and what the coffee can be developed into. Once the artistry side is done, the scientist can figure out how to make that happen every single time.
This is our Roasting Philosophy here at Pioneer. We discover what the bean can be; the Development Stage. Then we make sure that we are doing that every time!
